Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan - Inspired by Colour

My little flower & chalk paint boutique has had a busy start to 2020 with customers, new and old, stocking up on Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Despite a depressing end to 2019 and a devastating start to 2020 with bush fires raging throughout the country and around us here in Kiama on the South Coast, it seems that Chalk Paint™ projects are helping to raise spirits and take your minds away from the tragedies of recent weeks, for a little while at least. It seems that up-cycling and making over furniture is helping in a small way to distract and offer an escape from the unrelenting smoke we wake up to each day.

Possibly some of your furniture pieces will make it into the hearts and homes of those whom have lost everything as they rebuild. What better way to help out than to recycle and sell or donate a piece that you have painted with love? There are a lot of people who need help and hope right now.

And I'm thinking that maybe this year could be the year of hope and colour. Beautiful bold bright colour to make someone smile. A feature piece for an entry space, dining room, lounge, bedroom or kitchen. Could it be a front door, a letter box or outdoor furniture?

I've found some pieces to inspire from some of my favourite Chalk Painters on Instagram. Follow them for endless inspiration and to get some great ideas for your Annie Sloan Chalk Paint projects.

The shop will be fully stocked again on Monday and don't forget you can buy online at www.thewildflowerstudio.com.au with just $12 postage Australia wide for up to 5kg (about 2 large tins of paint, a large wax, brushes etc).

This groovy cabinet is by secondchangesbymisty on Instagram. I think it looks a bit like a drawn cartoon image with the used of black wax to accent carved features. Clever huh? You can never have enough storage!

Awesome use of Barcelona Orange - found this one on the anniesloanhome page on Instagram. Look at that shading and beautifully styled with colourful woven baskets above

Another one by secondchancesbymisty (I'll admit to having a paint crush on this woman, she is sooooo creative) painted in Emile by Annie Sloan. Again that detailing is just uber cool

Just incredible! How much do you love the floral pattern on the doors? Transfers coming to The Wildflower Studio soon. You have to follow ildikoh67 on Instagram for more gorgeous BRIGHT furniture makeovers like this

Yep, it's Misty again... This time beautiful blue shaded around the edges for interest and depth. Brilliant.

Wow, what can you say? Stunning Emperor's Silk with a bit of gold leaf on the detail. Stunning. Kind of makes you want to get painting... This piece by withlovefurniture on Instagram. You've got to follow this account, it is busting with really clever Chalk Paint pieces that will inspire you to get really creative with colour
